Happy Halloween!

In honor of the holiday, the girls would like to demonstrate some of their new tricks. Here's Naomi, showing off her toy holding skills. What isn't in this picture is that she is now pulling up on her knees and has been caught trying to stand up in her crib. Quite a trick indeed.

Here's Lillian with her new favorite thing. It's just little see-through scarf that she loves to have tossed on her head so she can peep at you before she pulls it off. Or she likes to crunch it up in one hand and wave it about a bit. Endless fun. This photo was one of several dozen that, some day, should you be inspired, I'd be happy to show you the whole slideshow. Naomi and Roxy are clearly conspiring in the background.

We've had lots of prep for the Halloween evening. Last week we took the girls to Boo at the Zoo. They could have cared less, but it was totally worth the price of admission just to see the hundreds (thousands?) of adorable children in adorable costumes. Also, Papa dressed as a pirate and that was totally fabulous. I only took four rather disappointing pictures of the whole event, so you'll just have to use your imagination.

This week, Nana came over and we carved pumpkins. Here's Naomi, inspecting the gut removal. She's a stickler.

Neither girl was thrilled with the handful of stringy guts we plunked on their trays for investigation.

And for the grandest treat of all, here are the girls in their amazing costumes, handmade byAunt Pat. We had to take them to a few neighbors' houses just to show them off.

(Oh, and Halloween 2009 was the last night I spent at home before going to the hospital. Holy time warp, Batman.)
