Day 50: Elementary, My dear Watson.

For a day where we got 4-6 inches of snow and spent most of it at a hospital, yesterday was pretty great!

Nana met us there to visit the girls and we all spent hours holding and snuggling babies. It makes for a wonderful day. They seem to really enjoy being held, just flopping into your chest, arms spread wide, face smooshed. Their heads are at the perfect height for sniffing and kissing.

William and I did get out to see Sherlock Holmes last night in the snowy madness. We had attempted this feat Saturday night, but it sold out while we were standing in line. Oh, well. We were forced to go back and hang out with babies. In the long run, the movie was thoroughly enjoyable, but even better, the theater is right acorss the street from the hospital and once we were finished, back we went.

The girls were weighed last night. Lillian's tipping the scales at 4lbs9oz! Her sister is knocking on yet another door at 4lb14!! Combined, they finally weight more than Jack did at birth. (They're 7 weeks old today.) It's amazing how much bigger they feel in our arms. Trying to find space to arrange both of them there is almost a challenge.

The hospital staff was having a bit of actviity with one of the babies in the nursery so, for everyone's privacy, we were shooed into the little breastfeeding room. The girls were unplugged from the monitors (which only made me panic for a little while), and off we carried them into privacy and comfort. Someone had left the little tiny television on. We found a Law and Order episode, settled in with our snuggly babies and pretended it was home. Not a terrible way to spend an evening.
